NMG strengthens its position on the filmmaking market
National Media Group has registered a new company, NMG Studio. The company’s main activity is investing in content projects and increasing NMG's presence in the filmmaking segment. The first NMG Studio project will be the production of the film Attraction 2 (Prityazhenie 2), co-produced by the National Media Group together with Art Pictures Studio, Vodorod Pictures and Russia-1 TV channel.
"We are making another step towards increasing NMG's presence on the filmmaking market. NMG Studio will invest in high-quality Russian content which will be competitive on both the Russian and international market," said NMG CEO, Olga Paskina.
In 2017, National Media Group was a co-producer and co-investor of the feature film Ice (Lyod,), which was a great box office success, earning more than 1.5 billion rubles
Filming of the sequel to Fedor Bondarchuk's sci-fi blockbuster Attraction 2,, co-produced by the National Media Group together with Art Pictures Studio, Vodorod Pictures and Russia-1 TV channel, started in July 2018. The film’s crew included second-year students of Industry Film School.
Attraction was released in January 2017. Over 4 million people saw it at the cinema, and the total box office takings in Russia and the CIS were more than 1.5 billion rubles. The film was also popular with international audiences—it was shown in more than 80 countries.
