Kazakhstan’s Channel 31, headquartered in Almaty, has been broadcasting since 1992. In 2008, CTC Media acquired an equity stake in the Channel 31 group of companies and began broadcasting in the country.
Channel 31 is a national family entertainment channel broadcasting in both Kazakh and Russian. The main programmes are news bulletins, the channel’s own entertainment programmes (sketch shows, concerts, gameshows), the highest rated CTC Media projects, and the best foreign feature films, shows and TV series. The channel also has a strong focus on its younger audience, offering children a wide range of TV series and cartoons.
Channel 31 is currently one of the most successful and popular television companies in Kazakhstan, its margins and profitability have been going from strength to strength. Channel 31 is one of the top three most-watched channels in the “All 6–54”viewer category.
